Description

Price advances on expanding range, but reverses to close well off its high on a sharp increase in volume.

Behavior Notes

  1. Wide range stalling weeks always close higher and may contain an exhaustion gap on the daily chart.
  2. Heavy volume is very common, but not always present within a stalling week.

What you need to know

Wide Range Price Stall after an advance is a sign of selling into strength and it may lead to a significant top for a stock.
