After trending lower below its major moving averages, price consolidates underneath the 40 Week Moving Average (MA) AND shows signs of accumulation.

Accumulation may take the form of the following:

  • Price thrusts (price range expansion on increased volume)
  • Mid or top of the range closes on increased volume.
  • Narrow range trading where price range contracts and closes little changed from one week to the next (tightness).
